Física Matemática

The Mathematical Physics Group at the Physics Department started in 1994 and presently includes three senior researchers, three postdocs and four graduate students.

The research is mainly focused on current problems in high energy physics, in particular, particle physics, gravity and cosmology, quantum field theory, supersymmetry and integrable models. In the last five years this group have produced over 60 publications in international journals (for more information, see the SPIRESdatabase). 

The research is carried in collaboration among the members of the group and with physicists at the University of Rochester,Université de ToursUniversidad de ValladolidUniversity of WroclawUniversidad Nacional de La PlataCity College of New YorkGran Sasso-INFNSISSAUniversitat de BarcelonaUniversity of Sao PauloUniversity of Zaragoza,TohoUniversity.

The members of the group are currently involved as principal investigators in five research projects supported by the National Research Council (CONICYT) and an equal number as co-investigators as well as projects supported by the Research Council of University of Santiago (DICYT). 

The graduate students are currently supported by scholarships from CONICYT and DICYT, and in the recent years our senior researchers have been awarded one J. S. Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship.
