Biografía

En el año 1993 me gradué como Ph., Doctor en Física y Matemática en la Universidad Estatal de Moscú Lomonosov. Defendiendo la tesis “Turbulent fluctuations in the fluxes of magnetospheric particles and formation of large-scale structures at auroral latitudes”. Anteriormente, el año 1988, terminé el Magíster de Física en la Universidad Estatal de Moscú, M.V. Lomonosov, grado que fue convalidado en Chile como Licenciatura en la Universidad de Chile  en el año 1993.

En mi quehacer como docente en la Universidad de Santiago de Chile dicto los cursos de "Physics of Space Plasmas", "Dynamics of the magnetosphere of the Earth" para los estudiantes de post y pre grado del Departamento de Física y cursos Departamento de Física y cursos del ciclo básico para los alumnos de la Facultad de Ingeniería, y Facultad de Ciencias.

Además he participado como miembro del Committee on International Participation y en American Geophysical Union.

Mis principales áreas de interés son el acoplamiento entre el viento solar la magnetósfera y la ionósfera, y también la dinámica de la magnetósfera, incluyendo la turbulencia y el caos en plasmas. Mi investigación reciente se centra en el desarrollo de nuevos métodos para estudiar los gradientes de presión del plasma, principales características de la turbulencia del plasma, y el comportamiento caótico de partículas, usando los datos satelitales.
