Física Matemática

The Mathematical Physics Group at the Physics Department started in 1994 and presently includes five senior researchers, graduate students and postdocs.

The research is mainly focused on current problems in high energy physics, in particular:

  • Particle search beyond Standard Model: WIMPs, axions, hidden photons and others
  • Signatures of Lorentz Invariance Violation and Very Special Relativity
  • Supersymmetry and integrable models
  • Gravitation and black holes
  • Cosmological models

The members of the group are involved as principal investigators in diverse research projects supported by the National Research Council (CONICYT). The graduate students are currently supported by scholarships from CONICYT and DICYT, and in the recent years our senior researchers have been awarded one J. S. Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship.
