Investigation:
Main line of research: Ultrasound elastography and its applications in medical diagnosis
• Development and optimization of local tissue deformation tracking techniques in ultrasonic images.
• Simulation of ultrasonic images (FIELD II) and tissue deformation (FEM).
• Biomechanical tissue modeling (pore-elasticity, viscoelasticity and tissue adhesion).
Secondary lines of research: Coda wave interferometry (CWI) and non-linear acoustics in complex solids:
• Acusto-elasticity in rocks and concrete.
• Detection of micro-cracks in rocks and concrete (NCWI).
• Consolidated granular soils.
