At the early days of supergravity, a different theory that considers a spin-5/2 field as the superpartner of the graviton (Hypergravity) was explored but promptly discarded due to serious inconsistencies. Nonetheless,  due to very special relations that hold in three spacetime dimensions, Aragone and Deser managed to formulate the first consistent interacting hypergravity theory. More than three decades later, we were able to construct a consistent extension of the Poincaré algebra with half-integer spin generators in any dimension (hyper- Poincaré), thus allowing to reformulate Hypergravity as a Chern-Simons action, where the latter is known to exist in any odd-dimensions. The lessons learned from the three-dimensional case permitted us to formulate a novel five-dimensional hypergravity theory that will be presented in detail, along with its generalization to any odd-dimension.
