Advanced Material Development & Characterization Facility

The experimental research activities of our Department are located mainly in the Block-B and Block-C buildings. Due to its accessibility and robust construction, Block-C is in the process of being remodeled to house equipment for the preparation, manufacture and characterization of new materials with physical properties of interest in different scientific-technological fields. This new platform will have more than 160m2 of surface distributed in three rooms. The projection of this platform is shown below.

  • Sputtering Intercovamex V3. Sistema de deposición en vacío de películas delgadas mediante pulverización catódica que permite la obtención de láminas delgadas nanométricas.

Laboratorio para la caracterización de materiales
  • Magnetómetro VSM. Los magnetómetros VSM realizan medidas de magnetizaciones con sensibilidades de 1 micro emu en el rango de campo magnético de 5 Tesla, a temperaturas entre 2 y 300 Kelvin.
