Clean Room Facility

The Clean Room of the Department of Physics offers a work space with a controlled atmosphere where the concentration of suspended particles is in a much lower range than that found in normal conditions (open atmosphere). Contaminants generated by people, processes, facilities and equipment are continuously removed from the air inside the clean room thanks to an air handling unit (UMA). The Clean Room has a lock, a validation room and a clean area, where the best cleaning conditions exist. The validation room is a space where the materials and implements are prepared to be entered into the clean area through a chamber with a double door that connects them. The Clean Room has three positions for the simultaneous work of researchers. It also has a hood without extractor, with a filter for toxic gases, an analytical balance and a spin coater. The Clean Room also has a particle counter with which the concentration of suspended particles is monitored periodically.
