We dedicate our efforts to understand the underlying difficulties in science education, in special in the Chilean and Latin American framework, taking into account aspects as socioeconomic distribution and gender equality. In this context, we implement and quantify different strategies at institutional, teacher formation and student level to contribute close the gap in science education.
El análisis de estructuras delgadas es fascinante dado que aparte de ofrecer desafíos científicos en ciencia básica además permite acceder a ámbitos tan diferentes como el de la biología, medicina, ingeniería e incluso el arte. Por dar un ejemplo, en nuestro cuerpo podemos observar su importancia en los recubrimientos dado por la piel, todos los tubos internos como arterias, venas esófago, bronquios, alveolos y en general todas las estructuras separando dos medios en nuestro organismo.

Actualmente investiga los orígenes de los planetas y trabaja en la interacción arte-ciencia a través de vehículos como el arte, la divulgación científica y la educación
Actividad:
Doctor en Astrofísica de la Universidad de Oxford, actualmente director del Núcleo Milenio sobre Exoplanetas Jóvenes y sus Lunas (milenioyems.cl) y del Centro interdisciplinario CIRAS (ciras.cl). También dirige el proyecto astrodiálogos (astrodialogos.cl) de encuentros interculturales de diálogos entre comunidades de pueblos originarios y científicas. Fundador y director de la iniciativa Concierto Cielos (conciertocielos.cl) y autor de "Bitácora Planetaria: Cazadores de Eclipses", novela de astronomía que busca motivar a niñas a descubrir la ciencia.
